General Webinar Overview:  

This webinar provides a high-level overview of acoustical sensors. It includes an introduction to Single beam Fathometers, Side-scan, Multibeam Imaging, profiling systems, DAS, and Scanning Sonar, focusing on understanding which acoustical sensor is appropriate for different applications. The webinar is targeted at professionals working in the marine infrastructure and dredging sectors and is intended to provide a high-level overview of these technologies and systems.

Mr. Abbott has over 25 years of project management, underwater engineering inspections, hydrographic surveys, and acoustic imaging experience.  Brian is the owner of Abbott Underwater Acoustics L.L.C., which works in the area of underwater inspection of marine structures. Mr. Abbott is employed part-time by Kongsberg-Mesotech for special projects. This work includes, but is not limited to, training on Kongsberg-Mesotech equipment; testing of new prototype equipment; homeland security projects; bridge, port, and harbor inspections; archaeological surveys and includes educational courses on acoustic systems.
