WODCON XIX will be held from 8-12 September 2010. It will include a 3 day technical program and exhibition and a full day technical visit.
WODCON XIX will be followed by an optional two day technical tour on 13-14 September.

First Call for Papers
Those with an interest in national development are aware that dredging plays an important part in allowing trade and business to happen within and between countries. This is certainly the case in China where the nineteenth World Dredging Congress (WODCON XIX) is being held.
New ways of dredging and handling dredged material are continually being found. These need to be examined, discussed and promoted if we are to achieve improved social, economic and environmental benefits.
Dredging makes the world a better place through:
- The creation and maintenance of waterways
- Enabling new land to be provided for industry, transport, recreation and housing
- The protection and enhancing of shorelines
- Helping to handle and treat contaminated sediments
- Assisting mining, tunneling, water storage and the construction industries
Congress Objectives
The Congress will bring together researchers and practitioners from industry, academia and government from all parts of the world to exchange ideas and experience in a friendly environment with the aim of showing that "Dredging makes the World a Better Place".
Wodcon XIX will attract representatives of Dredging Contractors, Port & Harbour Authorities, Government Agencies, Environmental Organisations, Consultants, Civil & Marine Engineers, Surveyors, Ship Yards, Vendors and Academia who are working in the exciting and challenging fields related to dredging.

Information for Prospective Authors
The papers must be original and should not have been published or offered for publication elsewhere. Purely promotional text will not be accepted. The respective Technical Paper Committees reserve the right to accept a submission as a paper for presentation. Authors must assign all copy rights of the submitted papers to WODA
Prospective Authors are requested to submit a 300 word abstract of their paper by 30 September 2009. The submission must include the name, complete mailing address, telephone number and email contact address of the author.

Information for Authors
The technical Committees will assess the abstracts.
Authors will be informed not later than 31 October 2009 of acceptance of their paper and will receive an "Authors Kit". The "Authors Kit" will include instructions for the preparation of the full technical paper, conference registration form and the copyright transfer form.
Draft Manuscripts having a text of 3000-5000 words with a total length no longer than 20 pages including figures and pictures must reach the organizers before 28 February 2010. All manuscripts will be refereed for quality, correctness, originality and relevance. Reviewer comments will be sent to the first of corresponding author before 31 May 2010
Final full technical Papers must be received by 31 June 2010
Proceedings
The papers presented will be included in the congress proceedings which will be distributed to all registered delegates at the start of the Conference.
Date and Venue
WODCON XIX will he held from 8-12 September 2010 at the Grand Epoch City Resort and exhibition Centre, Xianghe, Hebei Province.
The resort is located 52 km from downtown Beijing, 70km for downtown Tianjin and 60km from Beijing International Airport.
Exhibition
An exhibition will be will be held from Sept 9-11 in conjunction with WODCON XIX.
- The Exhibition area shall be more than 3,000 m². Each standard exhibit booth size is 2× 3 meters.
- The exhibit booths are classified into two kinds: one is the standard booth, the other is special booth. Exhibitors would choose the kind of booth according their requirements.
- In order to promote the exchange and friendship between the delegates from all over the world, the conference halls will be located next to the exhibition hall.
Technical Visit
A technical visit to Tianjin Port and the Tianjin New Coastal District on Sept 12 will be included as part of the Congress program.
Technical Tour
From 3-14 Sept following the Congress, a technical tour that will include visits to the ports of Caofeidian and Qinhuang dao will be offered to delegates. An additional change will be made for this technical tour.
Social Program
An attractive social program, including conference dinners will be arranged for participants and their partners. A partner program will offer several trips for shopping and to see the sights around Beijing. Pre and Post Congress tours to various areas of China will also be offered. Details will be given in the second announcement.
Second Announcement
